Consultancy and advisory services

The conservation of pollinators and the pollination services that they provide requires specialist technical knowledge. I can provide advice on creating, managing and restoring pollinator habitats, including:

  • single-species local Biodiversity Action Plans and habitat enhancement strategies.
  • how to add specific features to a site that will attract pollinators.
  • full scale habitat suitability surveys with recommendations for maximising pollinator diversity on site.

The advice I provide is based on the latest scientific understanding of the needs of pollinators and their plants, backed up by over 30 years of experience of working in the UK and abroad.

As well as on-the-ground practical advice I offer a reviewing service for reports, documents and strategies prior to public release, for local authorities, national governments, inter-governmental organisations, and NGOs, plus funding applications before and after submission.

Previous commercial and non-commercial clients and project partners include: Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST), Local Authorities, BBSRC, NERC, RSPB, The Wildlife Trusts, Anglian Water, JRS Biodiversity Foundation, the BBC, Disney Nature, British Ecological Society, as well as regional ecological consultancies.
